Swimtheisland is an open water swimming event divided into three distinct stages: Swimtheisland Sardegna San Teodoro, Swimtheisland San Vincenzo, and Swimtheisland Golfo dell\u2019Isola Spotorno.
Race distances may vary across the different stages of the circuit. Some distances are considered competitive, others non-competitive.
Participation in any distance and in any of the scheduled events requires a valid medical certificate, in accordance with the provisions set out in these Regulations.<\/p>\n
By signing the registration form, participants declare that they hold a valid medical certificate, as stated in these Regulations, and also declare:<\/p>\n
That they have read the regulations and fully accept them.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n
That they have read the Terms and Conditions.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n
That they meet the regulatory requirements.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n
That they are aware of the characteristics of the event and are in suitable physical and mental condition to take part.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n
That they agree to comply with the regulations, the instructions of the Race Management, and the event staff.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n
That they authorize the use of their personal data by the parties involved in the organization of the event, in compliance with GDPR Reg. 2016\/679\/EU.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n
That they authorize the use of photographs, video footage, and recordings deriving from their participation in the event for any lawful purpose, including advertising.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

In the event of non-participation, the registration fee will not be refunded. It is possible to transfer the registration to another race in the Swimtheisland circuit or to the following edition no later than May 23, 2026. In this way, the amount paid for registration will remain valid for another race or for the following edition, with an additional \u20ac10.00 administration fee. The transfer may be requested by contacting the organization at info@trioevents.it<\/span><\/a><\/p>\n A registration moved to the following year is not automatic; each participant must register independently using the coupon. The athlete check consists of the visual inspection to which every swimmer entering the starting grids will be subject. Staff will verify that each swimmer is equipped with the MANDATORY<\/strong> equipment required for race start. The chip will also be detected by the designated mats during the pre-start phase. Ambulances with doctors and nurses will be on duty, together with a permanent First Aid station in the finish area, professional in-water rescue service, and specialized staff. The event is covered by third-party liability insurance with Reale Mutua Assicurazioni. Participants are required to be in the starting grid area of each race 30 minutes before<\/strong> the official start time. The course and other relevant information will be available on the official race website, sent to participants via newsletter, and provided during the pre-race briefing in Italian and English. By submitting the registration form for SWIMTHEISLAND 2026<\/strong>, athletes declare that they are aware of and accept these regulations.<\/p>\n Participation in the Event involves the processing of participants\u2019 personal data for the purposes and in the manner described in the Organizer\u2019s Privacy Policy. The Event includes the making of video and photographic recordings for the purpose of documenting the event; among the services connected to registration, the Organizer also offers all participants the possibility to purchase event photos and videos in which their image appears. The organization reserves the right to modify the regulations and the programme at any time, in order to guarantee better race organization. Here it is possible to select the \u201cgroup registration\u201d option. This function allows groups of at least 5 participants to benefit from fixed commission fees of \u20ac5.00 for the entire group and the possibility to pay by bank transfer.<\/p>\n

\nNON-PARTICIPATION<\/h1>\n
A registration moved to the following year is not transferable to third parties.
A registration moved to the following year cannot be transferred again to subsequent years.<\/p>\n
\nATHLETE SUBSTITUTIONS AND DISTANCE CHANGES<\/h1>\n
To request a substitution, the registered participant must contact the organization at info@trioevents.it<\/span><\/a> and communicate the name of the new participant.
It is also possible to change the race distance for a participant already registered for the event.
In this case, payment of the difference will be required if the participant wishes to move to a longer distance, while if the participant wishes to move to a shorter distance, the difference will not be refunded. In these cases, no administration fee will be applied in order to avoid further charges.
If a substitution is requested and the substitute also changes race distance compared to the original registration, a cost of \u20ac10.00 will be applied plus any fee difference if the new distance is longer. If the new distance is shorter, the difference will not be refunded.<\/p>\n
\nATHLETE CHECK AND ACCESS TO THE START AREA<\/h1>\n
This applies to ALL SCHEDULED RACE DISTANCES<\/strong>.
Each swimmer must MANDATORILY<\/strong> wear the following equipment (provided at check-in at the Race Office):<\/p>\n\n
ATTENTION:<\/strong> if an athlete already has a Swimtheisland buoy (for example because they are registered for several distances at the same event or because they kept the buoy from previous editions), they may choose not to collect the buoy included in the race pack. The buoy from the race pack may be handed in intact and unused at the Swimtheisland Shop next to the race office, in exchange for a \u20ac5.00 discount to be spent on all products in the Shop!
This helps encourage the reduction of plastic consumption for the good of the environment!
Please note that it is always mandatory to have a Swimtheisland buoy in order to participate (other buoys are not allowed!).
The race CHIP<\/strong> must be RETURNED<\/strong> upon FINISHING<\/strong>. Dedicated staff will collect this equipment from each swimmer after the finish line. If a participant does not return the required equipment, or if it is damaged, they will be stopped and required to reimburse the value of the material provided.
Those who do not wear the above-mentioned equipment will not be allowed to start the race.<\/p>\n

\nCHECKS AND TIMING<\/h1>\n
Each participant will be provided with a daily-use chip, which must be returned at the end of the race. In the event of failure to return it, \u20ac15.00<\/strong> will be charged.

Note:<\/strong> failure to use the chip, or incorrect use of the chip, will result in exclusion from the ranking and no official time being assigned.<\/p>\n
\nSWIMMERS\u2019 RESPONSIBILITY<\/h1>\n
The organization is not responsible for accidents during the race caused by other participants or resulting from sea and weather conditions or the conformation of the coastline (surface rocks, etc.).
The organization guarantees that all equipment is built and assembled in accordance with the law and that all safety measures have been properly adopted.
The organization assumes no responsibility for breaches of current national and regional aquatic or coastal regulations committed by participants or their companions.
The organization, its sponsors, and collaborators assume no responsibility for actions by swimmers or their companions that may give rise to claims \/ legal action by third parties.
The use of a WETSUIT<\/strong> is free and OPTIONAL<\/strong> (mandatory only if the water temperature is below 16\u00b0C).
Participants who cut the course and fail to pass outside the official buoys in that section will be disqualified. (Their race number will be recorded by the control and safety staff.)<\/p>\n

\nRACE CANCELLATION AND EMERGENCY SITUATION<\/h1>\n
\n
In case of cancellation before the start of the event or during the event itself, due to provisions of the competent Authorities caused by certified natural causes and\/or causes not attributable to the objective responsibility of the organizer, no refund is provided.
In case of postponement to another date due to adverse weather conditions, the registration fee will not be refunded.
In case of cancellation by the organization due to ministerial provisions aimed at dealing with the COVID-19 pandemic, communicated at least 20 days before the event date, the fee will be fully refunded or kept valid for another Swimtheisland event in the current or following year.
In case of cancellation after that deadline, the organization reserves the right to issue a gift voucher or a discount voucher as a percentage of the fee paid, to be used for other Swimtheisland events in the current or following year.<\/p>\n
\nMEDICAL ASSISTANCE<\/h1>\n
Fixed and mobile radio rescue points will also be available.<\/p>\n
\nINSURANCE<\/h1>\n
No accident insurance is provided for participants for accidental incidents related to the nature of the event and not attributable to negligence by the organizer.
Athletes are advised to take out personal accident insurance independently.<\/p>\n
\nSTART PROCEDURE<\/h1>\n
Swimmers will be called into the start area 5 minutes before<\/strong> the race starts; notices will be given at 3, 2, and then 1 minute before the official start.
All race starts (1,800 m, 3,200 m) will be divided into starting waves, with 3\/5 minutes difference<\/strong> between each wave. Alternatively, should health regulations related to the SARS-CoV-19 pandemic require it, starts may be organized in ROLLING START<\/strong> mode, with individual or small staggered group starts.<\/p>\n

The data controller is the Organizer.
By registering for the Event, the participant confirms that they have carefully read the Organizer\u2019s Privacy Policy.<\/p>\nVideo and photographic recordings:<\/h3>\n
Video and photographic recordings will involve all participants without distinction and will be published and made available on TriO Events websites and social channels, on other promotional and information materials, and on the ENDU platform to allow viewing, purchase (where provided), and sharing by participants and persons authorized by them.
The participant acknowledges and accepts that, considering the public nature of the Event, the purpose of the services for the dissemination and commercialization of the Event\u2019s video and photographic recordings, and the impossibility of selectively limiting such recordings, registration for and participation in the Event requires authorization for the recording and use of one\u2019s image in the manner and for the purposes indicated in these Regulations, as well as in the Release Form and the Privacy Policy.<\/p>\n
